The Latter Years is the author’s dreams charged by the classic narrative of the Scriptures. A novel of Paul’s life from his first imprisonment to his death. From the pen of a man who has been a dreamer all his long life, Kennedy has used an ancient commentary on Paul’s life to guide his dreaming. Taught by his guide, Kennedy has woven much of the knowledge of the ancient fathers into his story. Spain and Crete feel the foot steps of the aged, nearly crippled Apostle as he is driven by hid approaching death to win every soul to Christ he can reach. Weep as Luke observes the martyrdom of Paul, and dies of a heart attack as he is about to finish the Acts of the Apostles.
This book is enhanced by many images in color. Archaeological sites reveal several places where Paul visited, and was imprisoned. A fine painting by Mark Churms illustrates an act of courage by an old Roman soldier Paul meets. Paul is impressed by the life of this brave old Saint.
There are two valuable appendices.

Chained To His Chariot: Paul, A Faithful Servant
Authored by Joseph Kennedy
Chained to His Chariot continues the story of Paul’s life from Illyricum, where The Invalid Warrior ended to his rented house prison in Rome where he is about to be evicted. With old age rapidly overtaking him, the Apostle was aggressive as he was in his youth. Blindness, illness, threats, abuse could no more deter the old man than they could deter the young man. Paul’s life and legacy should be an inspiration to every Saint; and especially to unbelievers.

For me, poems are hard to come by. An inspiration comes sailing into my brain like a big bird. Like a big bird, it flies right out again. If I’ve captured a feather, I consider myself much improved. If I can manage to put down the thought, I can usually, over the next weeks fill in the blanks. The thing is like a lump of mud on a potter’s wheel. Sometimes I can never shape anything of interest out of it. Once in a while it comes out looking pretty good. Other times, I have to throw the marred lump on the potsherd heap. Very discouraging. I’d like to be a poet, but it is very demanding – like trying to put smoke into a bottle. Anyway, I love to fool around with words. I hope you enjoy reading what I’ve done.

Hebrews is an epistle written by somebody who understood perfectly the Law of Moses, and the cultural history of the Jews which was based on this Law. The epistle is rich in ancient things and people: the Ark of the covenant and the altar; Abraham and Joshua as examples. Another devotional study by the author, this book is also full of cracker barrel philosophy and wisdom, as well as scientific knowledge. This blend of scholarship, common sense, creation, and science makes for fascinating reading. As a Bible literalist the author holds the Bible in great reverence and awe as God’s preserved Word. The book has an index of important topics, as well as an index of scriptures used in the book. A complete table of contents lists the eighty-some essays. Each essay take less than fifteen minutes to read, each one having its own title and scripture reference. The price of this book, like all of Kennedy’s books, is priced at the cost os production.

This is the first of two books about the first twelve chapters of the Bible. Genesis explains the condition of man and his environment. God created a perfect Earth; man has perfectly corrupted it, including the skies. This book should be of interest to everybody who lives on this whirling globe. This book is a philosophical and scientific examination of the only honest and authoritative source for such information that exists – the Authorized Version of the King James Bible. Pseudo-science has completely ignored God’s account, and proceeded to develop its own system of mythical explanations that satisfies the inane element of the world’s population. God warned of these mythological tales when Paul wrote to Timothy, and said, “O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:” (I Timothy 6:20).
Human-kind has accumulated a vast store of knowledge with his brilliant, God-given brain. In accumulating knowledge, he has relinquished wisdom. The magnitude of man’s accomplishments is exceeded only by the damage he has done to the earth in the process. But God knew man would do all these things, and all the future things. God graciously made a perfect provision for man’s escape from this earth. This, too, man has labored to corrupt. Joseph Kennedy will help you see this.
